More than fifty years ago in the us, the budget guide was developed – a new form of tourist manual. The atmosphere of the 1960s was conducive to traveling and the hippies traversed continents, revelling in the beauty of the world. Traditional bag packers, pocket guides and phrase books could no longer do the job. The end of the 1990s saw the proliferation of Internet portals and social networking sites publishing information and private opinions about particular places. In the early 21st century, the free Google Maps service with its special Street View function was launched. Google Traffic provides up-to-date information about traffic jams. USE-IT tourist maps and budget guides in many European cities have compiled the no-nonsense, non-commercial, up-to-date and locally made Free Map for Young Travelers. No longer the only option available, ‘armchair travelling’ has become the most comfortable way of spending leisure time. The Poland Guide is the fifth issue of the magazine IT! The Worst Magazine Ever, founded and run by artist Maryna Tomaszewska. It contains over 30 contributors, places, facts and opinions. Everything you didn’t want to know about Poland. You’ve got to have IT!
